ORIGIN / MANDELBROT
A broader project, built from an earlier one.
ComputeIntel was founded by CJ and grew out of Mandelbrot, an earlier internet-native community and platform centred on markets, trading, research, technology and shared intelligence.
As advances in AI, open-source technology, agents, software and accessible compute expanded what could be built, the opportunity began to outgrow the original project. Rather than keep stretching Mandelbrot into something it was not designed to become, CJ chose to rebuild around the broader question.
ComputeIntel emerged from that transition. It is not simply Mandelbrot renamed. Years of experimentation, building, publishing, markets, technology and online community form part of its provenance; the scope is now wider.
We are entering a period in which raw intelligence and technical capability are becoming dramatically more abundant. The harder problem is directing those capabilities towards valuable problems and turning them into outcomes. That is the territory ComputeIntel intends to explore and build within.

Founder
CJ is the founder of ComputeIntel. His background spans technology, markets, investing, research, business development and internet-native communities. Before ComputeIntel, he built Mandelbrot, an independent markets and research community that became the precursor to the broader ComputeIntel project.
His interests sit at the intersection of intelligence, technology, markets, capital and company building — particularly how new capabilities can be applied to meaningful real-world problems.

ComputeIntel is still early. We are looking for a small number of founding members who want to help shape what this becomes — people interested in researching important problems, building useful systems and creating things capable of producing meaningful real-world impact.
Titles are secondary. We care more about unusual capability, curiosity, agency and alignment. Builders, researchers, engineers, operators, designers, investors and unusually capable generalists are all relevant.
